Abstract / Summary

Acute kidney injury is one of the most common and severe clinical syndromes, with a high incidence and mortality rate. Transient hyperglycemia occurring under stress conditions is referred to as stress hyperglycemia and is relatively common in patients with acute kidney injury. Recent studies have shown that stress hyperglycemia increases the mortality of patients with acute kidney injury and has an adverse impact on prognosis. However, relatively few studies have focused on stress hyperglycemia complicated by acute kidney injury. This review summarizes recent research on the mechanisms of injury and the prevention and treatment strategies for stress hyperglycemia complicated by acute kidney injury.
